The Book of Eyes

The Book of Eyes is a photographic archive which records one eye belonging to everyone in Westlea Primary School (Seaham), produced during Alec’s artist residency in 2004.

The 309 eyes include pupils, teachers, kitchen staff and cleaners. The project was supported by Creative Partnerships (Durham Sunderland).

A second lightbox with 580 eyes was created for The Community School of Auchterarder in 2005. The project was commissioned by PACE.
